We are running a marathon, this time for the Cesta Domů, a home care hospice organisation!
We are participating in the upcoming marathon run held on 3rd of May 2015 in Prague. It occurred to us that we should not run just like that, but contribute to a special purpose.
This year we have decided to support people at the end of their lives who wish to spend their last days at home with relatives by their sides. We are running a marathon for those who cannot, so that they may live with dignity and without unnecessary pain towards the end.
However, we cannot proceed without support of our friends!
We would kindly ask you to support the organization Cesta domů by financial donation in any amount. So far for fourteen years Cesta Domů provides a complex expert care for terminally ill people and their families. The main goal is to improve the quality of care provided for the dying people in the Czech Republic, whose last moments are accompanied by loneliness, suffering and loss of human dignity. A complete set of services of the home care hospice is provided by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, social workers, psychotherapists, chaplain and other volunteers. The Cesta Domů organisation is trying to improve the attitude of society towards terminally ill people and the topic of death. Since 2014 the Cesta Domů organisation is also trying to find its way to help families with a dying child and to support the family´s effort to take care of such child.

The Cesta Domů organization will be grateful for any amount raised and your donation will help their team and especially the people at the end of their lives. For your interest, a complex care for one patient costs 1900 CZK per day, respite services for one patient cost 100 CZK per hour.
